Jonathan Faber

Founder, Managing partner & General Counsel

Faber is the Founder, Managing Partner and General Counsel of Luminary Group. He has decades of experience in licensing, expert witness, valuations, NIL and the Right of Publicity. Faber has collaborated with countless manufacturers, advertising agencies, music publishers, technology and media companies. He has extensive trial experience and has served as an expert witness in litigation throughout the U.S. involving parties such as Drake, the Ramones, Uma Thurman, Lancome, Rallys, Fruit of the Loom, Vans, Kohls, animated character Madeline, 50 Cent, Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue, Zooey Deschanel, Target, Shaun White, and valuation of IP assets in the Prince estate.

Faber also is an attorney with McNeely Law LLP and professor of The Right of Publicity at IU McKinney School of Law. He has taught Licensing Intellectual Property at IU Maurer School of Law. He is a frequent commentator and resource for media such as USA Today, HBO Vice, Variety, ESPN, Thomson Reuters, the BBC, and has been quoted or profiled in Billboard, the Hollywood Reporter, Forbes, AdWeek, and the ABA Journal. Faber was a speaker at the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s (AIPLA) annual symposium, the California CPA’s annual conference, and the annual AdWeek convention. Faber has numerous publication credits and has contributed to Right of Publicity and NIL legislation throughout the U.S.
